Who we are
Revival MInd is an educational site and community about the mind. It is run by Spas Kostov, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: spas.kostov94@gmail.com.
What we collect
- If you only read the site: nothing. We set no cookies and run no analytics, ads or tracking. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and to keep the site running.
- If you create an account: your display name, your email address, your password (stored only as a one-way encrypted hash, never in readable form), the date you agreed to this policy, and your email settings.
- What you choose to share: posts, comments, topics you start, topics you follow, posts you mark as "Resonates", and reports you send to the moderators.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To run your account and let you take part (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), providing the service you signed up for).
- To keep the community safe: moderation, preventing abuse and spam, and protecting the site (Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interests).
- To send the emails described below.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or send you marketing emails.
Emails we send
- About your account: a welcome email when you join, a link when you ask to reset your password, and a note when your password changes. These are part of running your account. For your safety, we never send passwords by email.
- When someone interacts with you: when someone comments on or replies to what you write, and when your post resonates with someone. These are on by default, and you can turn them off.
- New topics: only if you choose it, at sign-up or on your page.
Every notification email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can change all of them on your page. Emails are sent through our email and hosting provider. A copy of each email is kept for up to 14 days to make sure it was delivered, then deleted.
What is public
Your display name and everything you post (posts, comments and topics) are visible to everyone who visits the site, including search engines. Your email address is never shown to anyone.
Who else handles it
Your data is stored in the site's own database on our hosting provider's servers. The hosting provider processes it only on our behalf. Nothing is shared with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account and what you post are kept until you delete your account. When you delete it, your account, posts and comments are erased straight away. Replies other people wrote to you stay, without your words. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period for security.
Age
You must be 16 or older to create an account.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can access, correct, download, restrict or erase your data, and object to how we use it. Two of these work instantly from your page:
- Download my data gives you everything we hold about you as a file.
- Delete my account erases your account and everything you wrote.
For anything else, write to spas.kostov94@gmail.com and we will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Bulgaria that is the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
Community guidelines
Revival MInd is a place to explore the mind together. To keep it that way:
- Be kind. Disagree with ideas, never attack people. No harassment, hate, threats or mockery.
- Speak from experience, not authority. Share what helped you, but don't give medical or psychological diagnoses or advice to others.
- Protect privacy. Don't post anyone else's personal details, and think before sharing your own.
- Keep it real. No spam, advertising, or posts made to sell something.
- Only post what you have the right to share. You keep ownership of what you write; by posting you let Revival MInd show it on the site.
Moderators may hide posts or comments that break these guidelines, and may ban accounts that keep doing so. Use Report on anything that worries you.
Revival MInd is educational and is not medical advice or a crisis service. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services (112 in the EU) straight away.
